Settings Overview

Alma offers extensive customization through its settings panel.

Accessing Settings

• Press Cmd+, (macOS) or Ctrl+, (Windows)
• Click the gear icon in the sidebar

Quick Settings

Some settings are accessible directly from the chat interface:

• Model Selection: Click the model name in the chat header
• Tools: Click the tools icon in the input area
• Extended Thinking: Click the brain icon to toggle extended thinking
• Workspace: Click the folder icon to select workspace

Settings Sync

Settings are stored locally in:

• macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/alma/
• Windows: %APPDATA%/alma/
• Linux: ~/.config/alma/

Resetting Settings

To reset to defaults:

1. Open Settings
2. Click Reset Settings in the sidebar
3. Confirm the reset

WARNING

This resets all settings but preserves your data (threads, providers, memories).

Import/Export Settings

You can export your settings to a JSON file for backup or sharing:

1. Open Settings
2. Click Export Settings in the sidebar
3. Save the JSON file

To import settings:

1. Open Settings
2. Click Import Settings in the sidebar
3. Select a previously exported JSON file
